Why storytelling?

Situation - clear, crisp statement of fact

Complication - the thing that has changed that makes things harder 

Question - What are we to do?

Answer - The solution is . . .

Pixar Framework

Once upon a time . . . protagonist with a goal

Everyday . . .protagonist routine

Until one day . . . pivotal event

Because of that . . . new result

Until finally . . . reach the goal but not the way they thought they would

Character, Conflict, and Resolution

Character - Little Red Riding Hood

  • The connection between the storyteller and the audience

Conflict - Wolf

  • The lesson in how the character transforms through the challenge 

Resolution - Lumberjack

  • What happens next? Wrap up the story and call your audience to action
