For the majority of the human population if you get three doses of Hepatitis B vaccine spaced correctly Day 0, Day 28, 6 to 12 months from Day 0 then you are immune for life. But you are not the majority of people you are a student of healthcare. Getting Hepatitis B shots combined with blood work carefully spaced over time is important to an aspiring nurse, medical office assistant, health care aide, and doctor. There is a method to the madness or the number of times you get blood work done. You get a poke, then blood work. We ask "Is that enough?" If, it turns out you are good, great, have a nice life. Or, we say "No, not good enough do it again." Get another shot. Get more blood work. Repeat up to six times. The sixth time is a charm for Hep B, and sometimes that does not even work. Most often it works after three to four shots to the arm, and you become a happy, protected, healthcare student.
